The Virtuoso

"I was building drums for friends & playing various chairity gigs in Los Angeles, I was a very arrogant & insecure player. I later had an aha moment while eating at In-N-Out, realizing my role is to serve the music while striving to bring out the best in those I come in contact with, much like salt to a meal."

"It's not about building my brand, it's about building virtue."

Tom Tom Snare Review

"It's more than skin deep."

Currerntly drummers are restricted to shaping the attack through drum head, dampaning & stick selections.  When we design your drums we are also looking into the three elements of the envelope to "Produce" the right sound for the situation.

SOUND IT OUT

Much like how we can breakdown a sentance into words & words into letters, we can also break down sounds into waves. The sound waves then broken down into 4 main sections, commonly refered to as an envelope or A.D.S.R.

Attack

When you first strike a drum the Attack refers to the time it takes for your sound to go from silent to the loudest level.
- Stick to Drum Head

Sustain

Sustain refers to the level during the main sequence of your sound. This is the moment when the shell material is most engaged, drummers often refer to this as tone or at times colour.
- Bearing Edge through Shell

Decay

The Decay time controls how long it takes for your sound to go from the peak of attack to the sustain level.
- Drum Head to Bearing Edge

Release

Release controls how long it takes your sound to return to silence after the drum is struck.
- Shell to Rest
